simple sentences

For our writing we were doing simple sentences. We had to describe the photo with a simple sentences.  There were 4 photos and we had to write a simple sentences. Our simple sentences could not use a fanboy as that would not be 1 complete idea.

our Tessellation

For our tessellation we had to make a pattern with shapes that are 3d or 2d.. the colors we had to  use was colors code. The tessellation had to fill up the hole space and make it line up good.
   

First waka

Originally there were no people in New Zealand. The first people settle in New Zealand come in series of waka.

The first ten waka were named Takitimu Te Arawa Aotea Tokomaru Horouta Uruao Arai-te-uru.

Most of the waka visited the north island. some of the places The waka landed at were
Te Waewae Manukau Harbour Tainu.

The ten waka come to New Zealand to discover new lands for people to live.

listing

Kiwi can was about listing.

We played bop the cone, to practice listing for instructions. We also played chines whisper, to practice listing and hearing information.
I thought chines whisper was a good way to practice listing skills.




 

Adding on from 10

For math we learn a new skill that was skip counting in 10.  For math we had to do a story problem That was 38+50. We all had to write the answer and show to see we can get right. Then we had to do a ven dire gram how we work it out and get the answer.

Kupe and Cook

Kupe and Cook are 2 imported Explorers in New Zealand  history.

Kupe arrived in New Zealand in the 1100s. He travelled by traditional Methods on a traditional sail boat. Myth has it followed a giant octopus. He did this Voyage to find New Zealand  for his people to live. His wife nameol  New Zealand Aotearoa after seeing mountains under the clouds.

Cook travel  to New Zealand in October the 7 in 1769. Cook travel to New Zealand because he made a document of a map of New Zealand.

kupe is important because he was the first documented person in New Zealand. Cook is important because he mapped New Zealand  and opened it up to the world to access.

Retelling a text

Retelling a text is a important strategy to show understanding.

Retelling uses keywords to focus on important details.

Ordering keywords helps retell the information in an easy to follow ways.

Retelling helps show understanding by putting the text in your own words.

Retelling helps us understand if we have understand every thing that has been read.


What is a compound Sentences

This week we extended our sentences understanding to what is a compound sentences.

First we watched a video showing how a compound sentences is 2 Thoughts on a subject joined with a conjunction.

Next we learnt that fanboys are conjunction to join sentences. It stands for (for,and,nor,so,but,or,yet.

We then tested our understanding by recording mixed up sentences.

Explorers and Adventurers

Explorers and adventurers  are people who travel and discover new things.

  Explorers are people who travel to find new things and record them for the community such as Captain  James Cook,kupe,Neil arm strong. Robert Ballard.

Adventurers are people who travel to take part in something for them self such as bear Grylls,sir peter Blake,

Explorers and adventurers need to have or show many different attitudes  such as jean batten, Takuya Onishi because they can get information about the place.

Both explorers and adventurers travel to new places and need similar qualities although their goals are different.






Keywords

This week we had to use our book and find keywords  to unlock information.

first we need to read our book. next we need to read our book . next we needed to make a list of the key words.

Lastly we need to think of all the information that words unlocks as a reminder.

I learnt lots of new things like key words and what it understand for.

Thinkboard

For math we were doing a think board.  for our think board we did a practices of counting on. our answer was 75+4. we could do a vendire  gram a problem story. We had show how we did it from getting the answer 75+4.

Simple Sentences

This week we learnt what a simple sentences was. first we watched a video which  explained  simple sentences is. Next our group had to mixed up sentences.  then we had to write a simple sentence  of our own simple sentences. then we write the words in the box so people can put back the simple sentence.

a legal is an image that can be used with permission by law. image creators give legal permission to use their images by adding a sharing license.  It is important to use legal  images to help creators,and so user dont get in trouble. when using images make sure to check the license for permission.
